Living in Florida means our summers last for about 9 months. It’s so hot for so long. And I’ve always been one to drink mostly hot coffee… I have to be really in the mood to drink an iced coffee, but lately, with the temperatures in the 90s, I’ve been craving something cold and refreshing. And I found just that in this Cold Brew Lemonade. It’s so so good, a tiny bit sweet, sour, and with caffeine – I love it. And it’s probably the only way I like drinking cold brew. Plus, it’s super simple to make, so read on if you want to make your own!
What you need
- Cold brew. If you want to make your own at home, here’s a recipe and step-by-step instructions. You can also use cold brew from a local coffee shop.
- Limes
- Simple syrup: do equal amounts of sugar and hot water, stir until liquid is clear. I usually make a small batch (1 cup of sugar and 1 cup of hot water) and keep it in my fridge, so it’s ready when I want to make this drink
- Water
- Ice
- Rosemary (optional)
- Shaker. You can use a mason jar if you don’t have a shaker
The recipe
This makes one cup
- 4 oz water
- 2 oz lemon/lime juice
- 20 grams of simple syrup
- 4 oz cold brew
The Process
- Shake the water, lime and simple syrup with some ice to both mix and chill. Pour over fresh ice in a cup
- Top off with cold brew
- Garnish with rosemary
- Serve with a reusable straw, mix and enjoy!
